Admiral Rock, who retired from the Navy in August 2022, is a highly experienced Surface Warfare Officer with a wealth of knowledge surrounding military operations and troop support. He culminated his illustrious career in uniform as the Commander of the Navy’s Mid-Atlantic Region in Norfolk, Virginia. There, Admiral Rock directed fourteen naval bases across twenty states by providing direct support to operations forces and their families. In this role, he managed all municipal support functions, social services, emergency support services, security, and force protection for 450,000 personnel, and approximately one third of the U.S. Navy’s ships, submarines, and aircraft. He also had a direct hand in the environmental conservation and stewardship facets of his broad portfolio, partnering with a diverse group of elected leaders and citizens representing the states of Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland. Admiral Rock is now the Executive Vice President for Defense Programs at J.A. Green & Company, where he provides executive level coordination for clients regarding national security issues, legislation, and defense programs.
Admiral Rock was previously the Commanding Officer of the U.S. Navy Base in Sasebo, Japan, leading a team of 1,500 military and civilian personnel from the U.S. and Japan in the largest U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) fuel and ordnance facility in the Western Pacific. His record also includes a stint as the Director of Global Security Affairs and International Partnerships at the DoD’s office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. |
