Ike Blanton is a Vice President of Government Relations for J.A. Green & Company. In this role, Ike represents clients before congressional stakeholders, executive branch departments, federal agencies, and independent regulatory bodies.
Ike Blanton is a seasoned attorney and former senior government official, who most recently served as the Deputy Director for Economic Security in the Pentagon’s Office of Global Investment and Economic Security. There, Ike coordinated the DoD's initial economic competition efforts, including the development of the 1260H List of Chinese Military Companies and built partner capacity with allies and partners in projects such as the Partnership for Indo-Pacific Industrial Resilience (PIPIR) and the National Technology and Industrial Base (NTIB). In this role, Ike led various DoD reviews, security agreements, mitigation strategies, and compliance monitoring efforts including for Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) mergers and acquisitions, Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), Information and Communications Technology and Services (ICTS), and Team Telecom. Ike also directed strategic initiatives and led cross-functional supply chain risk assessments across weapons platforms, including efforts to secure the Golden Dome for America (GDA) supply chains. Prior to the Department of Defense, Ike served as a Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. Department of State for nearly 10 years. During his time at the State Department, Ike served in two foreign consulates – Recife, Brazil and Guangzhou, China – before a tour at the White House. While in the Foreign Service, Ike coordinated complex multi-agency initiatives, managed critical security assessments, monitored global conditions and assessed geopolitical and economic matters across the globe. Before public service, Ike was in-house counsel at a bank and specialized in finance, acquisitions, corporate strategy, and secured transactions. Ike attended the University of Tennessee, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Business Administration in Finance, and a Juris Doctorate. He is currently licensed to practice law in the states of Tennessee and Georgia. Additionally, Ike previously served as an adjunct professor at the National Intelligence University. |
