Eddie is a seasoned government executive, and retired Navy Captain with over 9 yrs Congressional and 28yrs of fleet experience in leadership, military operations, national security, engineering, defense acquisition, missile defense, shipbuilding, legislative issues and geopolitical operations.
He served as the Commanding Officer, USS CARNEY (DDG 64), completing an 8-month independent Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) deployment to the Arabian Gulf conducting Theater and Maritime Security Operations, serving as the BMD Warfare Commander for 5th Fleet, winning the 2014 Battle ‘E’, and the 2015-16 Arizona Memorial Trophy for the top ship in the Navy in Strike, anti-submarine warfare areas. During a global pandemic, he served as the Commanding Officer of the AEGIS Cruiser USS SAN JACINTO (CG 56), and as the Air Missile Defense Commander in the 5th and 6th fleet for Carrier Strike Group TEN as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, conducting two deployments, one of which broke the known historical record for the longest consecutive days at sea for a carrier strike group. On Capitol Hill he served as the Director of the Navy House of Representatives Liaisons and then the Director of Navy Senate Liaisons, being the Secretary of the Navy and Chief of Naval Operation’s direct representative to Congress. He previously has served as the Defense Fellow to Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, maintaining the Senator’s Defense, VA Affairs and MILCON portfolios. He also worked in the Navy Office of Legislative Affairs as Deputy Chief of Legislative Affairs and as the Deputy Director for Navy Programs, overseeing the Surface and Expeditionary Warfare portfolios to Congress. In 2024 he retired from the Navy after over 28 yrs. A native of Fayston, VT and Kinnelon, NJ, Eddie holds a BS in Political Science from the US Naval Academy, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Norwich University, a MS in National Resourcing Strategy from the Eisenhower School and is a graduate of the NATO Defence College, Rome Italy and was a Georgetown Congressional Fellow. |
