Vic Avetissian, President of Avetissian and Associates, specializes in Government acquisition and contracting with an emphasis on the Federal Acquisition Regulations, Cost Accounting Standards, Disclosure Statements, internal controls, regulatory compliance and audits.

A retired Corporate Director of the Government Acquisition Initiative at Northrop Grumman Corporation, with 36 years of service, Vic was responsible for establishing and facilitating communication of the company's position on Government Acquisition issues and maintaining effective communication with Government procurement agencies on procurement policies and acquisition reform initiatives.  He also assisted company elements in developing strategies on government acquisition matters.  

Vic was also Corporate Director, Government Cost Accounting and Compliance, where he was responsible for interpretation and implementation of corporate-wide Cost Accounting practices and compliance with all Government Cost Accounting and Federal Acquisition Regulations.

He is the Past National President of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA), a NCMA Fellow, and member of the National Board of Advisors. He is the past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Contract Management Institute (CMI). He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Contract Services Association of America (CSA) and chair of the association’s Public Policy Council.

He is a member of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Public Contract Law Section, member of Financial Executive International (FEI), past Chapter President of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), and a member of the National Defense Industrial Association's (NDIA) Contract Finance Committee.

He was a corporate representative on the Procurement and Finance Executive Committee and Cost Principles Committee of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA).  Additionally, he is a member of the Council of Defense and Space Industry Association (CODSIA), the Professional Services Council (PSC), the Information Technology Association of America, the Coalition for Government Procurement and a member of the Acquisition Reform Working Group (ARWG).

He has taught Government Contract Cost Accounting and Compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations at UCLA's Extension Program and is a frequent speaker and course instructor on issues related to Government acquisition, contracting, accounting and compliance legislation and regulations.
